Article 1: Prices
All prices displayed on japanese-swords.co.uk are indicated in the applicable currency. The effective exchange rate applicable to your order is determined daily by your banking or financial institution.

Where prices are displayed with a crossed-out figure, the crossed-out price corresponds to the reference price indicated by the supplier.
Title of goods: All products remain the exclusive property of Japanese-Swords.co.uk until full payment has been received and cleared.
Article 2: Orders
Orders are placed exclusively via our website at japanese-swords.co.uk and are subsequently processed by our team upon receipt of your confirmed payment.
The following conditions apply to all orders placed on our Site:
- Selected products are held in your shopping cart on a provisional basis. Availability is guaranteed for a period of 15 minutes following product selection.
- Shopping carts that remain inactive for 30 days will be automatically cancelled.
- Where Japanese-Swords.co.uk issues a formal quotation, said quotation shall remain valid for a period of 20 days, excluding clearance or end-of-line products.
Upon receipt of your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. It is your responsibility to ensure that the delivery address and order details provided are accurate prior to completing your purchase.
Article 3: Shipping
Orders are dispatched to the shipping address provided at the time of purchase, following confirmation of payment. Please ensure that you or an authorised person is available to receive the delivery.
Delivery timeframes are provided for indicative purposes only. Japanese-Swords.co.uk shall not be held liable for any delays attributable to the carrier, adverse weather conditions, or events of force majeure. In the event of an unexpected delay (including out-of-stock situations) we will notify you promptly by email or telephone.
Important — Receipt of goods: Upon delivery, you are required to inspect the goods immediately and ensure they have been received in satisfactory condition. In the event of any visible damage or discrepancy, you must:
- Note the details of the damage on the carrier’s delivery slip at the time of receipt
- Confirm the damage to us in writing (by email or recorded letter) within 24 hours of delivery
Failure to report damage within this timeframe will preclude any subsequent claim for compensation or cancellation on these grounds.
For consumers, in the event of a delivery delay exceeding the agreed timeframe, the order may be cancelled under the conditions set out in Article L.138-2 of the French Consumer Code, and equivalent provisions under UK consumer law.

Article 4: Right of Withdrawal & Returns
In accordance with Article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code and EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of taking physical possession of the goods, without providing any reason.
To exercise this right, please notify us within the applicable period at [email protected]. Upon receipt of your request, we will provide you with full instructions for returning your item.
Please note: The right of withdrawal does not apply to made-to-order or personalised items (including, but not limited to, engraved products) in accordance with Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
Conditions for return:
- Items must be returned unused, unaltered, and in their original packaging
- Returns must be directed to Japanese-Swords.co.uk and not to the manufacturer or carrier
- The cost of return shipping is borne by the customer
Refunds: Upon receipt and inspection of the returned item, Japanese-Swords.co.uk undertakes to process your refund within 14 days, using the same payment method as the original transaction. We reserve the right to defer reimbursement until the returned goods have been received.
Only the price of the product(s) purchased will be reimbursed. Any promotional discounts applied at the time of ordering will be deducted from the refund amount.

Article 5: Legal Warranties
All products sold by Japanese-Swords.co.uk are covered by the following statutory warranties:
Legal Warranty of Conformity
In accordance with Articles L.211-4, L.211-5, and L.211-12 of the French Consumer Code, consumers benefit from a two-year legal warranty of conformity from the date of delivery. Under this warranty, the consumer may choose between repair or replacement of the non-conforming item, subject to the cost conditions set out in Article L.211-9. During the first 24 months following delivery, the consumer is exempt from proving the existence of the lack of conformity.
Warranty Against Hidden Defects
In accordance with Articles 1641 and 1648 of the French Civil Code, consumers may invoke the warranty against hidden defects. In such cases, the consumer may choose between rescission of the sale or a reduction in the sale price, pursuant to Article 1644.
UK Consumer Rights
UK residents benefit from equivalent protections under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to a repair, replacement, or refund for goods that are faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose.

Any customs duties, import taxes, or related charges levied upon delivery are the sole responsibility of the customer. Japanese-Swords.co.uk has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount, as they vary by jurisdiction.
