The Black and White Katana Sword That Commands the Room

Some blades are forged to cut. Others are forged to endure, to be seen, to be felt before they are ever touched. This black and white katana sword belongs to the second category, the kind of piece that stops a room. The stark drama of crisp white tsuka-ito against black samegawa, the jewel-like navy and gold of the tsuba, the sweeping arc of a blade whose undulating temper line catches light like a living thing. This is a katana that speaks the language of contrasts, and speaks it without compromise.

Tradition Forged into Every Detail

This black and white katana is built on the geometry of the samurai tradition. The blade follows a classical shinogi-zukuri construction, with a well-defined ridgeline, an iori-mune tent-ridge spine, and a proportionate chū-kissaki point whose clean yokote line and continuous boshi returning along the mune reflect the exacting standards of Edo-era craftsmanship. Forged using traditional swordsmith methods in T10 high-carbon tool steel, the blade carries a full ungrooved cross-section (mu-hi) that preserves its classical mass, rigidity, and commanding physical presence.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Katana

A Hamon Unlike Any Other

The gunome-notare hamon running the full length of this blade is among the most visually arresting temper line patterns a production katana can carry. Large, rhythmic waves rise and fall in a continuous undulation from the hamachi all the way to the kissaki, where the boshi curves cleanly around the tip and returns along the spine. At its widest points, this bright, high-contrast habuchi line occupies nearly a full third of the blade’s width, turning the entire ji into a display of light and shadow. The T10 steel surface, polished to a cool silver clarity, amplifies every arc of the pattern, creating the kind of visual depth that rewards long, close attention. This is a black and white sword built around a blade that earns its place at the center of any collection.

The Art of the Fitting

Every fitting on this katana was chosen to reinforce the same high-contrast visual language. The tsuba is a statement in itself: a stylized organic silhouette in deep navy blue enamel with scattered floral motifs in raised gold-tone relief and a defining brass border, unlike any conventional guard form and impossible to overlook. The handle is wrapped in a tight, even hineri-maki diamond pattern in crisp white synthetic leather over a black-dyed samegawa base. The fuchi and kashira answer each other in blackened metal engraved with gold curvilinear motifs evoking Edo-period decorative metalwork. Gold-tone menuki anchor the grip at their traditional positions. The saya is covered in glossy black granulated leather, its textured surface echoed by the matching black and gold metal fittings at its tip and mouth. White, black, navy, and gold every element holds its place in a composition that transforms this katana into a centerpiece worthy of the finest display spaces.
