Dragon Katana: Where Myth Meets the Blade

A dragon does not simply decorate this sword. It inhabits it. From the sinuous form coiling across the deep royal blue lacquer of the saya to the carved tsuba and the silver-toned menuki nested beneath the wrap, every element of this dragon katana tells a single, unified story. This is a sword built for those who understand that a blade is not merely an object but a presence, one that commands a room, anchors a collection, and carries the weight of an ancient mythology into every space it occupies.

Craftsmanship Behind the Legend

This dragon katana sword is forged using traditional swordsmith methods, delivering a high-carbon steel blade shaped into a classic shinogi-zukuri geometry with a moderate tori-zori curve and a clean chu-kissaki tip. The yokote line is sharply defined, a quality marker that separates functional blades from ornamental castings. A full-length bo-hi (fuller) runs along the blade, enhancing visual rhythm and light play across the polished surface, while maintaining a balanced and refined profile that emphasizes the blade’s clean geometry and mirror-finished steel.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Royal Blue, Gold and Fire

The saya of this dragon samurai sword is its crowning statement. Lacquered in deep royal blue with a flawless high-gloss finish, it carries an intricate polychrome dragon rendered in gold, amber, and dimensional color gradients against the dark ground, with silver-white cloud or waves motifs drifting near the koiguchi. The white sageo, koiguchi, and kurikata create a precise accent framework that anchors the composition. The round brass tsuba carries a carved dragon in the same gold register, and the gilded brass habaki bridges blade and handle with warmth and precision. Every fitting speaks the same visual language.

A Handle Built to Be Held

The tsuka of 27 cm, is wrapped in a tight hineri-maki diamond pattern in pristine white ito, consistently spaced and firmly executed over a samegawa foundation whose nodes are clearly visible through each opening in the braid. Beneath the wrap on each face, silver dragon menuki sit in their traditionally offset positions, adding relief and grip security simultaneously. The fuchi, finished in blue-lacquered metal with a gold accent, maintains perfect chromatic continuity between the saya and the handle. Weighing 1.4 kg across a total length of 99 cm, this dragon katana carries the balance and physical authority of a blade that was designed not just to be seen, but to be felt in the hand.
