Koganeha Katana Sword (黄金刃) – Golden Edge

£230.00

Manganese Steel Ultra durable and shock resistant.
full tangBlade running through the entire handle for maximum strength.

Some blades are defined by a single, unmistakable signature. The Koganeha katana sword takes its name from the Japanese for “golden edge,” and the manganese steel blade delivers exactly that: a rippling yellow pattern that catches light like burnished metal, forged using traditional swordsmith methods. A hand-assembled copper alloy tsuba in black and gold colors, dragon menuki, floral kashira, and a panther-engraved saya complete a sword built for collectors who demand both power and refinement.

Koganeha Katana Sword: Gold Forged in Shadow

Its name is written in two kanji: 黄金 (ōgon), gold, and 刃 (ha), edge. Together, they form a single promise. The Koganeha katana sword does not whisper its presence, it commands it. From the moment the blade emerges from its crackle-lacquered saya, the room changes. Warm gold color and deep black grain sweep across every centimeter of the steel in flowing organic patterns, catching light the way molten amber catches fire. This is not ornament layered onto a sword. This is a sword built around an idea: that beauty and power are the same force.

A Blade That Defies Convention

The Koganeha sword is built on classical Japanese geometry, shinogi-zukuri ridge-line construction, tori-zori curvature, a clean chū-kissaki with a precise yokote line, and an iori-mune spine, all proportioned to full adult katana scale at 71 cm of blade length. The no-hi construction (no bo-hi groove) was a deliberate choice: the entire blade surface is left uninterrupted so the gold-colored pattern can breathe across the full width of the steel. Forged using traditional swordsmith methods, hand-assembled and hand-finished.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Katana

The Dragon in Every Detail

The koshirae of the Koganeha katana is a unified visual statement executed across every component without exception. The round-shaped tsuba (maru-gata) is a true masterpiece of sculpture, with a base made of a dark-hued cooper alloy, accented with touches of gold. Gilded shishi menuki, three-dimensional guardian beast figures with fine facial detail, anchor the black hineri-maki diamond wrap above the faux black stingray samegawa-covered tsuka. The matched fuchi and kashira carry the same crackle-finish dark metal with gilded detailing, creating a continuous design language from pommel to guard. No component was left unconsidered. Every element speaks the same language: black, gold, dragon.

Display Worthy of the Golden Edge

The saya is finished in kairagi-nuri, a demanding crackle lacquer technique where fine gold veining is worked into a controlled crack network over a deep charcoal black base. The result is a scabbard that reads as both precious object and architectural surface, warm gold threading through darkness in patterns that recall the blade it sheathes. A hand-painted polychrome dragon lacquer display stand is included, completing the Koganeha as a fully presentation-ready collector’s piece rather than a sword awaiting a setting. Weighing 1.3 kg with a 26 cm tsuka delivering immediate balance on the draw, this is a centerpiece that earns silence in every room it enters, the kind of object that collectors describe not as something they own, but as something that has claimed its place.
