Seiryū Katana Sword: Born of Dragon and Shadow

In Sino-Japanese cosmology, Seiryū, the Celestial Blue Dragon, guards the Eastern sky, sovereign of spring, renewal, and spiritual power. This katana bears that name with full authority. The blade does not simply reflect light. It absorbs it, returning only a cold, deep cobalt that shifts to mirror silver at the edge, as though the dragon’s own breath has been sealed into the steel. From the first moment it is drawn, the Seiryū katana sword commands the room entirely.

Forged in the Image of a Deity

The Seiryū sword is built around a full-tang blade forged using traditional swordsmith methods in manganese steel, ground to a precise shinogi-zukuri geometry with moderate tori-zori curvature and a clean chū-kissaki tip, proportions that echo centuries of Japanese sword-making discipline. The surface treatment is what sets it apart: the spine and shinogi-ji receive a deep chemical bluing that renders the steel an intense cobalt-black, while the hamon zone transitions to a high-polish mirror finish, together producing a gradient that no standard production blade achieves. The Celestial Blue Dragon is present in every centimetre.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Katana

A Dragon Coiled in Gold

The koshirae of this Seiryū katana is designed as a unified visual statement. The round tsuba is cast in warm gold alloy with a full three-dimensional dragon coiling across its entire circumference, scales, claws, and flowing mane rendered in high-relief on both faces, with a dark recessed field providing dramatic contrast. The fuchi carries delicate floral motifs in matching gold casting, a softer counterpoint to the dragon’s intensity that adds refinement without breaking the overall aesthetic unity, while golden dragon menuki are set at traditional offset positions beneath the cobalt blue tsuka-ito. The blue braided wrap, hand-finished in tight hineri-maki diamond pattern with crisp hishi-gami windows, brings every element into a single coherent aesthetic language: gold fire, midnight blue, and the serpentine energy of Seiryū in motion.

The Scabbard Holds the Storm

The black lacquered wooden saya achieves a mirror gloss that few display pieces at this tier can match. Against that deep kuro ground, a coiling gold imperial dragon unfolds across the full length of the scabbard, accompanied by white wave and cloud motifs near the kojiri, completing the image of the Celestial Blue Dragon ascending through sky and sea. The brass habaki bridges blade and guard with a warm polished accent, and the two-tone blue and red sageo adds a final chromatic note that recalls the colours of dawn breaking over the Eastern horizon. This is a katana that does not wait to be discovered. It announces itself, and the room reorganises around it.
