The ha (cutting edge area) carries a mirror-bright polish that throws light with cinematic clarity, while the ji and shinogi-ji are darkened to a cool blue-black satin, producing a contrast of almost theatrical intensity. The hamon, rendered in a bold drip-wave pattern flowing continuously from habaki to kissaki, burns like molten silver against this darkened ground.
