Dōja Katana Sword: Where the Dragon Breathes

Its name says everything. Dōja (銅蛇): copper and snake, two forces bound into a single blade. But pick up this Dōja katana sword and what you feel is not a symbol, it is a presence. The warm copper-rose of genuine Damascus steel glows like embers caught in amber light. A snake coils around the guard, grips the handle, and breathes its warmth into every surface. This is not a katana that sits quietly on a wall. It commands the room, the eye, and the hand that holds it.

Damascus Steel: Forged Layer by Layer

The blade of this Dōja katana is forged using traditional swordsmith methods from genuine pattern-welded Damascus steel, its authenticity confirmed by the organic grain flowing across the surface, the unmistakable signature of real multi-layer forge-welded construction. No surface etching, no simulation. Across the ji and shinogi-ji, a warm copper-rose to amber-gold treatment catches light with an intensity unlike any conventional polish.

Every Damascus Sword Tells Its Own Story

Damascus steel is one of the most legendary materials in sword-making history, and its secret lies in the craft itself. Each blade is forged by folding and hammering hundreds of layers of steel together, then treated with acid to reveal the natural wavy patterns created by those layers, making every Damascus sword truly unique, no two blades ever share the exact same design. Our Damascus swords are crafted using high-quality folded steel, delivering a blade that is as beautiful as it is durable. Whether you’re a sword enthusiast or looking for a statement display piece, our Damascus swords are built to stand the test of time. Damascus Steel Katana

A Dragon Carved in Brass

The tsuba of this Copper Snake katana is one of the most commanding guards produced in contemporary sword-making. Cast in cooper with deliberate dark patination in every recess, its circular form is built entirely from the articulated body of a snake, in full three-dimensional sukashi (openwork) construction. The snake does not decorate the guard. It is the guard. Gilded dragon menuki anchor the grip beneath the teal tsuka-ito, while the matched fuchi and kashira continue the ryu theme in darkened metal with raised gold detailing, a coherent vision executed without compromise across every fitting.

Unified Craft: Singular Beauty

The tsuka is wrapped in a tight, even hineri-maki diamond pattern using vivid teal braided cord over faux black stingray samegawa, the characteristic pebbly texture of which confirms the quality of the material beneath. The classical high shinogi (takashinogi) blade geometry, moderate tori-zori curvature, clean chu-kissaki with a crisply defined yokote line, and a well-executed bo-hi running from hamachi toward the tip all speak to a blade built with functional intent as much as visual drama. The saya completes the vision: solid lacquered wood in deep black with a gold-colored crackle finish, its hexagonal pattern echoing the motif of the tsuba. Gold, black, teal, and copper-rose, four elements, one Dōja sword, completely alive in your hands.
