Kurokage Katana Sword, the Blade of Black Shadow

Its name says everything. Kurokage (黒影), Black Shadow, does not announce itself. It arrives in silence, carrying the weight of feudal Japan’s most disciplined warriors. The kanji 黒 (kuro) reaches beyond color into depth, mystery, and concealed strength, while 影 (kage) is the shadow that moves without sound. This Kurokage katana sword was designed around that duality: a blade of quiet menace and deliberate beauty, forged using traditional swordsmith methods in T10 steel, and finished with a koshirae of rare visual cohesion.

A Koshirae Built Around Shadow

The round black alloy tsuba is hollowed in the form of a shuriken, an emblem of precision and invisibility. The midnight blue faux stingray skin beneath the black diamond-pattern tsuka-ito creates a depth of texture that shifts under light, striking and restrained at once. Black menuki sculpted as dragons anchor the grip with symbols of power and wisdom. The Kurokage sword does not borrow its aesthetic from tradition. It embodies it.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Katana

From Handle to Saya, One Vision

The tsuka is constructed on a wooden core and hand-wrapped with black tsuka-ito in a precise hineri-maki diamond pattern, its tension even and its spacing immaculate, over midnight blue faux stingray skin that reads as almost indigo in shadow. The black alloy fuchi and kashira are matched exactly in finish and weight, completing a handle assembly that sits with authority in both hands. The habaki carries a swirling kamon motif that echoes the shuriken geometry of the tsuba, maintaining the thematic thread across every fitting. The black lacquered wooden saya is dressed with shuriken-shaped kamon, its kojiri and koiguchi in the same deep black, bound with a black sageo that disappears into the whole. From pommel to scabbard tip, the Black Shadow holds its identity without compromise, a collector’s piece built for those who understand that true power does not need to announce itself.

Steel, Shadow, and Edge

Steel, Shadow, and Edge

The T10 steel blade is forged in classic shinogi-zukuri, with a crisp taka-shinogi ridge, clean iori-mune, and moderate tori-zori true to Edo-period proportions. A well-defined chu-kissaki and precise yokote reflect careful polishing. No bo-hi interrupts the form, the blade speaks through its geometry alone.

An engraved horimono runs along the shinogi-ji, featuring intricate, script-like motifs reminiscent of traditional bonji. It adds symbolic depth and visual contrast, balancing austere structure with refined ornamentation.
