The Purple Katana That Commands Every Room

Draw it once, and the room changes. As the blade emerges from its jet-black lacquered saya, an iridescent sweep of violet and blue catches the light, deep indigo at the spine, cooling to an electric blue toward the edge, like a gemstone pulled from darkness into focus. This purple katana was not designed for the battlefield. It was designed for the moment of revelation: the slow draw, the held breath, the unmistakable presence of a blade unlike anything else in a collection.

Classical Form: Extraordinary Finish

Beneath the dramatic color, the blade follows an impeccably correct shinogi-zukuri geometry, featuring a clean iori-mune spine, a moderate tori-zori curvature, and a well-defined chū-kissaki tip with a full, rounded fukura. This is classical Japanese sword architecture serving a singular, breathtaking aesthetic purpose. Every proportion signals above-average production quality for a purple samurai sword at this tier.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Imperial Ornamentation: Edge to Tip

The fittings of this black and purple katana are built around a unified visual language: gold, black, and violet in deliberate, cohesive tension. The round sukashi tsuba is cast in brass with openwork petals radiating from a central core in the form of the chrysanthemum, the kiku motif, one of the most culturally charged symbols in Japanese artistic tradition. Gold-toned menuki anchor the grip beneath a tight hineri-maki diamond wrap in black and white, with windows of pale samegawa (ray skin imitation) visible between each crossing. The fuchi collar mirrors the golden warmth of the tsuba, while the black and gold kashira provides a deliberate, elegant contrast at the pommel.

A Saya Worth the Draw

The scabbard of this purple katana is finished in a deep kuro roiro-nuri high-gloss black lacquer, its surface so reflective it seems to absorb the room around it. Along its length, five ornamental medallion roundels are inlaid in chrysanthemum and starburst patterns, layering green, gold, and cream tones against the black ground in a decorative detail rarely seen at this production level. The black and white patterned sageo, presented in a decorative knot at the kurikata, completes a mounting system that functions as a unified visual composition from collar to tip. Displayed on a stand or drawn for a guest, this katana does not simply occupy space. It defines it.
