Light-colored wood saya, geometric grey ji-sukashi tsuba, hand-wrapped black diamond ito over faux white rayskin samegawa… restrained, deliberate, uncompromising.

Tetsuya Katana Sword: Discipline Forged in Steel

Its name means Iron Arrow, and the Tetsuya carries that meaning in every line of its construction. Where other blades announce themselves with ornament and excess, this katana sword speaks in contrasts: the raw, pale warmth of natural wood against a koshirae unified in deep black, the mirror-bright shinogi-ji against an ivory samegawa, stillness against precision. The Tetsuya katana sword is built for the practitioner who understands that true refinement is not decoration. It is discipline, made visible in steel and grain.

T10 Steel: Tempered by Clay

The blade of the Tetsuya katana is forged using traditional swordsmith methods from T10 high-carbon steel, then submitted to clay differential hardening, the tsuchioki process, to produce an authentic gunome hamon. This is not a simulated acid-etched effect. The clay-applied tempering creates a genuine activity zone with rounded peaks, organic ashi projecting toward the cutting edge, and a ko-maru boshi at the kissaki. The result is a hamon with real structural character, earned through heat and craft, offering both proven cutting performance and a visual richness that rewards close study.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Uncompromising Quality

A katana is more than a sword, it’s a symbol of precision, discipline, and Japanese heritage. Our katanas are crafted with respect for traditional sword-making standards, offering you a reliable, durable, and beautifully finished blade. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, you’ll find the perfect katana for your needs.

Katana

A Polish Above the Standard

The finishing work on the Tetsuya sword sets it apart from production blades of comparable price. The ji surface receives a professional hadori-style togi polish, while the shinogi-ji approaches a near-mirror finish that catches and holds the light with uncommon clarity. The chū-kissaki is precisely ground, with a crisp, cleanly defined yokote line, a quality indicator that reveals the care invested in the final stages of production. The high-set shinogi places mass optimally for both functional cutting geometry and classical aesthetic proportion. This is a blade finished with the intention of someone who understands what a katana is supposed to look like, and why it matters.

The Iron Arrow

The koshirae of the Tetsuya katana is a cohesive artistic statement built around a single visual language: blackened iron and pale contrast. The circular sukashi tsuba, pierced with a tomoe-inspired motif, is patinated to a consistent gunmetal depth. The matched fuchi-kashira set, forged in blackened alloy, carries embossed floral relief on the kashira, crisp and unworn. The black tsuka-ito is hand-wrapped in an evenly spaced hineri-maki diamond pattern over ivory samegawa, a high-contrast pairing that defines the grip visually as much as physically. Black dragon menuki are set at the traditional offset positions beneath the wrap. Smooth brass habaki and seppa seat the blade cleanly, while the natural pale wood saya, finished to reveal its grain without lacquer, delivers the defining tonal strike of the entire design. The Iron Arrow is ready to be drawn.
