The blade follows the classic shinogi-zukuri ridge-line construction, with a moderate tori-zori curvature that gives it the elegant, sweeping silhouette of a true Japanese katana. The chū-kissaki (medium point) terminates in a sharply defined yokote line, a mark of precise, careful finishing, completing a blade profile of restrained, confident elegance.

The koshirae of the Yūga katana is conceived as a unified aesthetic statement. The saya, crafted from lacquered hardwood in a deep roiro-nuri style mirror-black finish, provides an unblemished, high-gloss backdrop that amplifies the warmth of every gold-colored fitting it meets. The upper half of the scabbard is adorned with a diamond-braided gold ito wrap, creating a visual transition between blade and handle of rare refinement. The koiguchi and kurikata, both rendered in matching gold-tone metalwork, anchor the composition with coherence and purpose. Set against the darkness of the lacquer, each gilded element burns with quiet, controlled intensity.

A Handle Worthy of the Blade

The tsuka is wrapped in bright gold synthetic silk ito in a hineri-maki diamond pattern, with faux white ray skin samegawa visible through each lozenge opening, a contrast as deliberate as it is beautiful. Gilded dragon menuki sit at their traditional positions within the wrap, adding three-dimensional depth and a sense of mythological weight to the grip.
